Three forms of Vajrapani

In the autumn of 2004 Chogyal Namkhai Norbu gave the cycle of teachings of the three aspects of Vajrapani to his students at Tashigar Norte (North Tashigar, Venezuela).

This doctrine is based on the terma teachings opened by Chogyal Namkhai Norbu’s uncle and teacher Khyentse Rinpoche Chokyi Wangchug (terton’s name is Heka Lingpa). Chogyal Namkhai Norbu also directly and actively participated in the discovery of these terma teachings

Vajrapani’s three aspects are: peaceful, as an emanation of Garab Dorje (tib. shi va kun ‘dus); wrathful (tib. khro bo phyag rdor) and joyful form of yab-yum, which is called Palchen Deva Chen-to (tib. dpal chen bdeva chenpo).

This thangka is painted according to the transmission and oral instructions given by Chogyal Namkhai Norbu.
